• Administer, maintain, and optimize AWS Aurora databases, including backup and recovery, security, and high availability configurations.
• Monitor and analyze database performance metrics, including slow queries, and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Upgrade from Aurora 5.7 to the latest 8.x version.
• Tune SQL queries and stored procedures to optimize performance and ensure efficient data retrieval and manipulation.
• Implement and maintain database monitoring tools to detect performance issues, bottlenecks, and potential security threats.
• Work closely with development teams to assist in database design, schema creation, and the implementation of best practices.
• Perform regular database maintenance tasks, such as indexing, partitioning, and archiving data.
• Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database issues, including query optimization, deadlocks, and connection issues.Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Database Administrator, with a focus on AWS Aurora.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with database tuning, including query optimization and stored procedure tuning.
  • Strong understanding of AWS services, including Aurora, EC2, S3, and IAM.
  • Experience with database monitoring tools such as Amazon CloudWatch, Datadog, or New Relic.
  • Familiarity with database backup and recovery procedures, including point-in-time recovery.
  • Knowledge of database security best practices and experience implementing database encryption and access controls.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
