DirectorThe Mobile BU CPU and Core Platforms Product Management
Director leads software strategy and Product Management for CPU and
Core Platforms in the Mobile Business Unit. This role involves
working closely with cross-functional teams to define and execute
the product strategy for CPU and Core Platforms, ensuring alignment
with the overall business objectives and market demands.Principal
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the software strategy for CPU and Core Platforms,
including the boot chain for mobile chips, clock control, buses,
power gating and management, and connectivity like USB.
- Represent the BU viewpoint and needs at Feature Review Boards
and generally with Technical Product Management and
Engineering.
- Participate in OEM visits and communications and be an
effective resource in Sales activity.
- Be a technical resource to the broader team in the areas
covered, and in knowing what the software roadmaps are for these
areas.
- Help drive Key Messages across various tech "siloes" and ensure
that teams are working well together towards the key areas of
investment for Mobile.
- Assist the Chipset Product Management team with silicon
decisions, with an emphasis on software and ability to deliver key
features.
- Evangelize Key Messages and other software strategy directions
broadly across Tech Product Management, Program Management, and
Engineering.
- Contribute to decisions on OEM Feature Requests and be ready to
be the voice of Mobile in evaluating customer feature
requests.
- Understand competitive architectures like ARM and RISC-V.Level
of Responsibility:
- Working independently with no supervision.
- Making decisions that are significant in impact, influencing
overall program or project success, finances, and/or the ability to
meet objectives; errors are not readily apparent due to the
complexity of work process/product or time between decisions and
results; errors typically result in significant expenditure of
time, resources, and funds to correct.

and/or detailed information to multiple individuals/audiences with
differing knowledge levels. Role may require strong negotiation and
influence, communication to large groups or high-level
constituents.
- Having a great degree of influence over key organizational
decisions (e.g., is making or directly making key decisions that
have a substantial impact on the organization).
- Completing tasks that require multiple steps that can be
performed in various orders; tasks require simultaneously executing
multiple cognitive abilities and maintaining information in short-
or long-term memory.
- Regularly determines what needs to be done and is involved with
sharing innovative solutions to achieve broad policies and
objectives.
- Using deductive and inductive problem solving. Multiple
approaches may be taken/necessary to solve the problem. Often
information is missing or conflicting. Advanced data analysis and
interpretation skills are required.
- Develops, redesigns strategies and processes and provides
overall direction for various functional areas and/or entire
organization. Has influence over the formulation and achievement of
long-term business plans and objectives.Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a
related field; MBA preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in product management, with a focus on
CPU and Core Platforms.
- Strong understanding of competitive architectures like ARM and
RISC-V, as well as low-level system features like clock control,
buses, power gating and management, and connectivity.
- Proven track record of successfully launching and managing
products in the semiconductor industry.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal
skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic
environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Preferred
Qualifications:
- Experience with mobile chipsets and associated software for
premium Android smartphones.
- Knowledge of the latest trends and developments in the CPU and
Core Platforms space.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing
complex projects.Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer
Science, Humanities, or related field.
- 8+ years of Product Management or related work experience.Pay
range and Other Compensation & Benefits:$196,000.00 -
$294,000.00The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to
maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it
has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is
only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer
a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity
for annual RSU grants (employees on sales-incentive plans are not
