position will be responsible for debt collection of previously
charged off customer accounts following vehicle repossession and/or
other loss-related activity. The successful candidate will possess
superior negotiating ability to work out repayment plans, or
negotiating settlements when it is in the best interest of the
company. This position also requires skip-tracing skills in order
to locate assets for potential legal action against the debtor.
This individual will interact with the Legal Administrator when
necessary to locate assets for post-judgement writs of garnishment
or levy. This position will also have some interaction with the
Bankruptcy Administrator and other members of the Loss Recovery
team. The individual will provide regular updates to the Loss
Recovery Supervisor on incoming recovery dollars for accurate
reporting to upper management. The successful candidate is
self-directed in work prioritization and demonstrates superior
judgment-making ability within the scope of the position’s areas of
responsibility. The associate will perform all duties in accordance
with CIG Financial policies and procedures and all state and
federal regulations. This position requires working a variable
schedule, which may include late evenings and occasional weekends,
as directed by management. This position is eligible for a monthly
bonus, based upon the individual’s ability to meet a minimum goal
target set by management. . Meet or exceed daily production
standards by working an assigned queue of charged off accounts,
contacting debtors or attempting to locate debtors. Review new
charge off accounts for appropriate action, determining whether
deficiency collection efforts or legal pursuit are the most viable
strategy. Utilize skip-tracing skills to locate post-judgement
debtors in order to execute writs of garnishment and/or bank levy.
Follow up with debtors on scheduled repayment plans to ensure
consistent recoveries. Within established guidelines, negotiate
settlement arrangements with debtors in order to maximize potential
recoveries. Essential Knowledge, Skills and Licenses Excellent
verbal and written communications skills. Ability to organize
various tasks and prioritize workloads while managing to deadlines.
Superior customer service and negotiation skills. Thorough
understanding of state and federal laws applicable to debt
collection, including the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
Superior skip-tracing skills, and be familiar with standard
skip-tracing tools. Self-motivated, comfortable working
independently, with strong attention to detail. Bi-lingual in
English and Spanish is preferred. Education and/or Experience High
school degree or GED is required. Minimum three years previous
experience in the consumer financial services industry is required,
and automobile financing experience is preferred. Minimum two years
previous experience in bad debt/charge off collections is required.
The expected hourly pay for this position is $30.00/hr Exciting
